OUR HISTORY AND VISION

History

Our church has its roots in Dayton, OH stemming from Jesus Church founded in 1988 by George R. Scott. Apostle Scott was later led by the Holy Spirit to change the name of the Church to Christ Worldwide Church in the late 1990's with a call to "take the gospel of Jesus into all the world." Theron Brown Sr. was sent to Florence, AL in 2002 to take over a ministry set up there. In 2002 Pastor Theron & Tracy Brown took over, rebranded, and renamed the church Christ Worldwide Ministries in Florence, AL. Since then Apostle Theron Brown Sr has served faithfully as the Senior Pastor and founder of Christ Worldwide Ministries in Florence, AL.

Our Church Vision 

​

At Christ Worldwide Ministries, we are committed to discipleship, striving to grow in the likeness of Christ through His Word and teachings. We believe we are called by God to be an apostolic church with a prophetic voice and vision. Rooted in the foundation of the five-fold ministry, we recognize the apostles and prophets as key pillars of the church, with Jesus Christ as the chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20, 4:11-13).

We are dedicated to representing the Mind, Heart, and Voice of Jesus Christ in the world:

​

• The Mind of Christ – “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 2:5
  (We strive to cultivate the same mindset and humility that Jesus displayed in His life and ministry.)

​

• The Heart of God – “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16
  (We aim to reflect God's love for the world by sharing His message of salvation and grace.)

• The Voice of the Prophet – “For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” – Revelation 19:10
  (We proclaim the prophetic word of God, centered on the testimony of Jesus Christ as the fulfillment of God’s promises.)

In a world that is constantly changing, we are socially aware and conscious of the times we live in. With the reality of the end-times ever before us, we are more driven than ever to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). We believe that the urgency to preach the gospel to all nations is amplified by the signs of the times, and we are committed to spreading the hope of Jesus Christ to all people, urgently and faithfully.

We believe that through faithful service to our community and beyond, we will achieve these goals, sharing the Word of God and the teachings of Jesus Christ as found in the Holy Scriptures (Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15). Our stance on family, marriage, and the material world is rooted deeply in our understanding of the Bible, guiding us as we live out our mission (Genesis 2:24, Hebrews 13:4, Matthew 6:19-21).
